Dominating The Local Marketing

With orthopedics being a highly competitive market, Summit Health wanted to focus on dominating local SEO to ensure their size and expertise are being reflected upon in their search rankings. Even though Summit Health was the largest orthopedic organization in New Jersey, competitors with higher-performing websites were appearing above them in search results. Before any marketing campaigns could begin, Summit Health enlisted help from Katava Marketing to build a state-of-the-art, high-speed and fully-responsive website that improved the patient experience starting at the very first click . The content strategy behind the new website was crafted with SEO local in mind — helping Summit Health reach the top of local searches, as well as service-driven searches about the conditions Summit Health treats and the treatments they provide. 

Upon the launch of the new website, Summit Health partnered with Katava Marketing for a video marketing strategy that continued the domination of search results through non-traditional search engines like Youtube and social media. The video strategy involved doctor bio videos, as well as treatment-specific videos that go into more detail about the level of care patients can expect from New Jersey’s leading orthopedic specialists.  

Better Patient Retention

The orthopedic department of Summit Health grew rapidly from two surgeons at one location to 48 specialists at 28 locations. Most of the physicians had their own existing practices and brands before merging with Summit Health. As the department continued to exponentially grow, it became increasingly more difficult for the appointment scheduling call center to keep up with all the available services, doctors and location hours — leading to longer wait times on the phone. To improve the patient experience of scheduling an appointment, Summit Health partnered with Katava Marketing to develop a custom call center software that connected the practice website’s provider and location directory with an administrative program to help efficiently schedule appointments with the right provider at the right location. This helped increase call center productivity for faster appointment scheduling and at a higher call volume.

Other Successes Include:

Summit Health saw a 7% increase in orthopedic visits in the first year after launching the new website.
Orthopedic surgery cases increased by 13.4% in the first year after launching the new website.
The podiatry department saw surgical cases increase by 12.6% after the launch of the new website.
